Nota Penyelidikan Tentang Sumber Kredit Di Kalangan Wanita Miskin

Abstract

The gender dimension of poverty focuses on the plight of women, the multiple role of women and the role of women in alleviating poverty. The literature on women and poverty is abound with cases of the plight of women, heavy economic and socio-cultural burden of poverty among women and the great impact of poverty among women. Women are also known to be discriminated in terms of work access, opportunities and renumeration. Despite these factors, women are accountable towards sustaining programmes designed to alleviate poverty among the hardcore poor. Trading is one of the popular non-agricultural activities chosen by women in using the credit given by Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia or AIM. This study tries to evaluate the capacity of trading activity in upgrading their income and changing their economic status.
