Equity Aspects of the Malaysian Tax System: Some Observations and Suggestions

Abstract
Several Studies have concluded that the Malaysian tax system falls regressively on the lower in some groups. This paper reviews some taxes that contribute to this regressiveness and offers some suggestions to ameliorate the situation.
