Pertimbangan Aspek Modal Sosial sebagai Pengukuh Nilai Kemanusiaan dalam Aktiviti Menderma Darah

Abstract

Pendermaan darah merupakan contoh tindakan berkaitan kesukarelawan, di mana ia berupaya menyelamatkan nyawa penerima darah menerusi proses transfusi darah. Oleh yang demikian, adalah penting untuk kita meneroka aspek-aspek motivasi yang mendorong individu terus menderma darah. Kajian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan temu bual bagi meneroka potensi modal sosial dalam jaringan sosial terhadap tindakan menderma darah. Data dikumpul melalui temu bual bersama 20 orang penderma darah di Pusat Darah Negara (PDN), Kuala Lumpur yang mana data diperoleh melalui persampelan mudah. Penderma darah yang datang ke PDN telah dijemput untuk menyertai kajian ini. Dapatan temu bual telah dianalisis secara bertema. Dapatan temu bual mendapati bahawa aspek modal sosial mempunyai peranan terhadap tindakan menderma darah. Informan kajian melaporkan bahawa modal sosial mengukuhkan nilai-nilai kemanusian dalam diri mereka yang seterusnya membawa kepada tindakan menderma darah secara konsisten. Kajian ini memberikan implikasi bahawa modal sosial mempunyai potensi untuk mengukuhkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dalam konteks pendermaan darah. Kempen pendermaan darah boleh menggunakan elemen modal sosial iaitu kepercayaan dan timbal balik dalam jaringan sosial untuk menarik lebih ramai penderma darah. Kajian akan datang disarankan agar meneroka dengan lebih mendalam tentang kaedah yang lebih sesuai untuk mengukuhkan modal sosial dalam jaringan sosial bagi mendorong lebih ramai individu menjadi penderma darah.
