Nasionalisme dan Perubahan Polisi Tuntutan Filipina ke atas Sabah daripada Irredentisme kepada Tuntutan Dorman, 1962-1998

Abstract
Polisi tuntutan Filipina ke atas Sabah banyak dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan politik dalaman Filipina dan ideologi yang didokong oleh presiden yang menguasai tampuk pentadbiran. Ketika di era pentadbiran Presiden Macapagal dan Presiden Marcos, dasar luar Filipina terhadap Sabah sangat dipengaruhi oleh polisi irredentisme bagi mendapatkan kembali wilayah tersebut. Tuntutan ke atas Sabah dijadikan agenda nasional Filipina yang sebelumnya hanya terbatas kepada isu Kesultanan Sulu semata-mata. Perubahan dalam perjuangan rakyat khususnya sejak era pentadbiran Presiden Corazon Aquino dan Fidel V. Ramos telah menghidupkan gagasan baharu bahawa nasionalisme yang sebenar ialah berpaksikan kepada “kepentingan rakyat” sebagaimana yang dilaungkan dalam People’s Power Revolution. Kedua-dua presiden tersebut telah mengubah polisi berkaitan Sabah kepada tuntutan dorman apabila segala usaha untuk menggugurkan tuntutan ke atas Sabah menemui kegagalan. Justeru, artikel ini bertujuan untuk menilai kesinambungan dan perubahan polisi tuntutan Filipina ke atas Sabah dan kaitannya dengan nasionalisme sejak era pentadbiran Presiden Macapagal hingga Presiden Fidel V. Ramos.
