NOTICE: USM JOURNALS E-MAIL IMPERSONATION & FAKE SCHOLARONE SYSTEM FRAUD ALERT

Penerbit USM would like to inform all authors and contributors of an attempted e-mail scam involving fake USM e-mail addresses impersonating the ScholarOne system of USM journals. The fraudulent messages originate from links associated with “manuscriptcantral.com”, claiming to request additional Article Processing Charge (APC) payments.  Please be advised that Penerbit USM has never issued any payment instructions through external links or portals other than each journal’s official ScholarOne submission system (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/).  Penerbit USM is not affiliated with, nor responsible for, any payment requests originating from the following sources: 

• manuscriptcantral.com 
• e-mails not sent from official USM or journal domains 
• any third-party accounts, funding platforms, or payment portals 

All APC payments for journals published by Penerbit USM can ONLY be made through the official USM ePayment portal:  https://epayment.usm.my 

For your safety: 

• Do not click on suspicious payment links. 
• Always verify the sender’s e-mail domain (it must end with “usm.my”). 
• Contact the Editor-in-Chief or Journal Administrator if you have any doubts.
