We are pleased to announce that commencing 12th of October 2009 onwards, Tropical Life Sciences Research (formerly known as Journal of Bioscience) will use SCHOLARONE™ Manuscripts a web based system for submission and also reviewing processes of articles. This is the web based system used by many leading publishers such as Wiley and Blackwell. The system will also handle all major steps involved in scientific article publishing including submission, selection of reviewers, reviewing processes, feedback to authors, formatting etc.

Researchers interested in submitting their papers must first register at the website at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tlsr. Please take note that from 1st November 2009 onwards, we only accept manuscripts via the online submission system.

If the manuscript was submitted to another journal for publication consideration prior to submission to TLSR, please state so in the cover letter and corresponding author must ensure that a PROPER RETRACTION is done. This MUST include a formal notification (email/letter) from the former target journal that the manuscript is now NO LONGER being considered for submission. Without this, TLSR will consider this an attempt to submit the same manuscript for publication in more than one journal.

Manuscript should be thoroughly edited to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to the correct scientific English. We strongly encourage Professional English Language Editing Service be used before submission (e.g. American Journal Expert: www.aje.com; Enago™: www.enago.com; Scribendi: www.scribendi.com). Inclusion of proof of professional editing service may reduce unnecessary delays in the processing of your manuscript.

Kindly note that the Editorial Board may asked for proof of professional editing service for revised manuscripts BEFORE a final decision of acceptance.

Licence To Publish

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been published before and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. When the manuscript is accepted, the author(s) must sign a Licence To Publish transferring copyright in the manuscript from the author(s) to the publisher, and that the manuscript will not be published elsewhere, in any language, without the consent to the copyright holders.

In order to have your submission published in Tropical Life Sciences Research, please print the Licence To Publish, fill it out and send by email to tlsr.usm@gmail.com.

(NOTE: Your accepted manuscript will not be published unless a Licence To Publish has been signed and received by the publisher.)
