Using Peer-Review as Motivation Tool in a Writing Class

Abstract

Tertiary level students are required to write reports in their academic subjects. However, the engineering students' enrolled in English proficiency classes at Universiti Sa ins Malaysia Engineering campus have not shown evidence of writing skills and higher level thinking abilities in their written reports. The students' written works lack organization and ideas and they have no motivation to write essays. They perceived writing as subject requirement and they lack knowledge in composition and writing.
